Siraj made his first-class debut on November 15, 2015, playing for Hyderabad in the 2015–16 Ranji Trophy competition, under the coaching of Karthik Udupa. His Twenty20 debut came on January 2, 2016, in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was Hyderabad’s top wicket-taker in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy, finishing with 41 wickets at an average of 18.92. In February 2017, Siraj was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for ₹2.6 crore ahead of the 2017 Indian Premier League. Later, in the 2018 IPL auction, he was acquired by the Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Siraj began playing club cricket at 19, after taking up bowling at 16 using a tennis ball.
