Yamaha FZ-S With Hybrid Tech Unveiled At Auto Expo 2025

Yamaha FZ-S With Hybrid Tech- The Yamaha FZ-S Hybrid retains the same neo-retro roadster design as the previous model. It is powered by a 149cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine with a hybrid assist, thanks to the addition of the new Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which works alongside the engine. While the exact specs are not yet revealed, we expect the engine and hybrid motor to deliver slightly better power and mileage.

Yamaha FZ-S With Hybrid Tech

The new FZ-S hybrid now includes an LCD instrument console that shows the speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, tripmeter, gear position indicator, clock, and other essential information. The bike also gets a few additional features, such as automatic start/stop, silent start, and traction control. The bike also has a redesigned switchgear for navigating the dashboard and controlling these functions.

Fuel Tank & Weighs

The bike’s underlying structure has stayed intact. It still has the same 41mm telescopic fork and 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock. The bike’s brakes consist of a 282mm front disc and a 220mm rear disc, with single-channel ABS as standard. The FZ-S Hybrid features 17-inch alloy wheels with 100-section front and 140-section rear tubeless tyres. It features an 810mm seat height and a ground clearance of 165mm. The FZ-S also has a 10-liter gasoline tank and weights 139 kilogrammes (kerb).

Bike’s Maximum Output

The hybrid technology on this bike originates from an ISG, similar to ones seen on Yamaha and TVS scooters, which offers a tiny electric boost to increase the machine’s maximum output. The FZ-S also includes start/stop technology and a silent start. The FZ-S’s air-cooled, 149cc, single-cylinder engine currently produces 12.4hp and 13.3Nm in the normal model, so expect a slight increase in this hybrid edition.

Hybrid’s LED Indicators

The other alteration is the inclusion of a colour TFT display, which includes features such as call/notification alerts, music playback control, and new switchgear to handle the additional functions. LED indicators for the FZ-S Hybrid may also be seen on the tank extensions’ faux air vents. Aside from these alterations, the FZ-S Hybrid is cosmetically and technically identical to the original motorcycle.

Torque Boost for Quicker Acceleration

Yamaha hopes that the new Smart Motor Generator will increase the bike’s performance significantly. The SMG charges the battery and works with the engine to provide a slight torque increase for faster acceleration. This feature is very handy in city traffic. This technology also provides the bike with a silent engine starting motion and an idling engine start-stop capability.

Bluetooth Connectivity

Interestingly, Yamaha hasn’t announced the price of the new FZ-S, which means that the current model will be available for a few more months. The new FZ-S also has a new TFT screen with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and a variety of ride data. The Japanese manufacturer may release the new FZ-S during the holiday season.

Integrated Starter Generator

The Yamaha FZ-S Fi Hybrid’s hybrid technology comes from an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), which, like Yamaha and TVS scooters, gives a tiny electric boost to increase the bike’s maximum output. Two other features that will be included with the FZ-S are start/stop technology and silent start. The ordinary FZ-S’s air-cooled, 149cc, single-cylinder engine produces 12.4hp and 13.3Nm, so this hybrid model should see a minor increase in power.
